Eastwick Junior School

1958. In this picture we are looking towards the top of the school drive. We cannot see the new school as it is obscured by the large  tree in the centre of the photograph. This is  the Sycamore that is destined to become the Eastwick logo. To the left of it you can see the two lighter coloured buildings that were the first temporary classrooms.

To the right of the Sycamore is a dark building. This  is the  ex-army Nissan Hut. which was  used as the first classroom of Eastwick before the new school was built.  This is the building that is  described by Geraldine Scoble on the second page in this section.

Post WW2 Southey Hall pupils  remember the Nissan Hut as being the place where their woodwork classes were held.
