1950 265 The Royal Oak Public House (Frank Freeman) image: original source unknown The Royal Oak had had a rapid turnover of publicans in the previous 5 years to it being wrongly demolished in November 2017. According to the Surrey Comet, 14 March 2018, after demolition work began, Mole Valley Council enforcement officers were sent to the site and could not persuade the contractor to stop. They decided they could not serve a Temporary Stop Notice, despite a change in the law in May last year [2017] that requires planning permission for the demolition of pubs. In January, a resident gave the council evidence an officer knew about the rule change – contrary to what officers had told the public. The council held a scrutiny meeting on Wednesday, March 13, 2018 to discuss the lessons learnt from the mistakes. |

Brook Way, Kingston Road Stewart Automatic Boilers Limited Stewart House, Brook Way, Kingston Road, Leatherhead, Surrey Here's the Boiler to modernise any home - large or small The Stewart 'Compact' Automatic Oil Fired Boiler with the amazing 'Wall Flame' Burner. Now in capacities 60 to 160 thousand BTU per hour. The Compact takes oil heating out of the luxury class and brings it within the budget of every home owner. Peak Performance - Low Cost ... Fully Automatic Operation ... Other Stewart models available include the CONVERTIBLE pressure jet oil fired boilers - with capacities 100,000 to 300,000 BTU and can be converted to solid fuel. STEWART AUTOMATIC BOILERS LTD.
Stewart Automatic Oil Fired Boilers have been specifically designed for high efficiency oil firing and are complete packaged units fired with a specially matched pressure jet gun type burner thoroughly proved and tested. Combustion Chamber The Stewart Oil Fired Boiler has a large combustion chamber as well as a large access door which allows easy placing, inspection and maintenance of the refractory firebricks. Heating Surface The tubular heating surfaces directly surmount the combustion chamber and are equipped with patented turbulators which offer little resistance to the passage of the gases. The loss of power during normal running does not exceed 1/25" WG. This boiler only requires a low depression in the chimney-03" to -04" WG. This allows less importance to be attached to the chimney in relation to its draught manufacturing properties. In existing constructions a good result can in many cases be obtained with chimneys which would very often be considered unsuitable. The continuous upwards flow of the gases avoids to a considerable extent condensation which can be produced each time the burner is started and stopped. Compactness By virtue of the heating surfaces being so compact the size of the boiler is small in proportion to its output. This therefore allows reduction in size of the space required for the boiler room with a consequent reduction in capital cost. Cleaning All heating surfaces are easily accessible and easy to clean. Automatic Oil and Solid Fuel The Stewart Boiler, although specially designed for oil, can be converted for the use of solid fuel, either by means of a gravity feed pre-burner unit or underfeed stoker, or by using the opposite end to which the oil burner is fitted. Alternatively, the boilers can quickly be fitted with fire bars and grills for the use of large coal or or coke for hand firing by natural draught. Flow and Return These can be preset or provided wherever required, either at the front or back of the boiler to a desirable working diameter for gravity or forced circulation. Chimney or Flue Connection The return towards the main chimney stack is normally at the back of the boiler, but this can on request be placed at the front or side outlet. |
